My laptop keyboard is behaving funny W brings on the help menu.

number one prints thirty one, number two prints fourty two and so on I thought some window key stuck physically no It is not I went to bios and checked all key behaving fine, Booted from usb pen drive all happy its between windows and driver or some windows setting.

If Numlock is on there may be such issue-make sure it is off.

Have you tried to connect a external keyboard to check the result?

Some third-party software also might cause this issue. Please perform a Clean Boot to see if the keyboard works fine:

Tried clean boot as well no luck, No third party software my daughter uses it in kids login she does not even have permissions to install any thing. this does not have any numeric keypad so numluck button not there as well, performed system restore before coming to this forum. on screen keyboard works fine  guess that just another app sending events from one app to another app by passing driver to OS interface. I have to convince its the windows 8.1 problem. Drivers are fine.

Hardware is fine as I can type exactly I like in Bios.

Yes, USB keyboard is happy. And surprisingly the weird behavior does not start right away it starts after few seconds of usage. As I came to respond to this post that its all nice and good now the weirdness came back.

One more piece of information which am sure will help when I press Shift+3  it types   [#%!Videos]  without the enclosing square brackets.

Take your laptop to a repair shop and have your laptop keyboard cleaned/reparied/replaced.
